Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you relaunching these Prize Draws?
Our aims are to encourage residents to recycle more, and to let residents know how to recycle correctly. If we can achieve these two things we will save your Council money that can be better spent on other Council services.
Who is allowed to enter?
Residents of the London Boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham, Lambeth, Wandsworth and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
How many prize draws are there?
There will be two Prize Draws. The first draw will take place on Friday, 16th December 2016 with a second Draw on Friday, 24th March 2017.
How can I increase my chance of winning?
There are two ways to increase your chance of winning:
- Make sure that you only recycle the items that we request. If you are unsure of the items to put in your recycling sack or recycling bank, you can find details here
- Make sure you recycle as much as you can, every week - you will be able to place a Golden Ticket in your clear recycling sack every time you fill it or every time you visit your communal recycling bin.
How much can I win?
The prize levels are the same irrespective of which Borough you live in. There will be one winner of £500 and eight winners of £250, per Borough.
The £500 winners will also get to nominate a local community group to win a £2,500 community reward.
I have run out of Golden Tickets. How do I get some more?
You can download more tickets here, or you can pick them up from one of several locations within your borough:
What do Community groups need to do to be in with a chance of winning?
To be eligible, community groups must register in advance and make a clear commitment to encourage recycling. The Group can then be put forward to be considered by the £500 winner as the recipient of the £2,500 Community Reward.
