Visitor Information

Before you visit:

  • Please sort your waste and recycling before you visit to help prevent traffic congestion on the site.
  • Please note that you will now have to lift your waste or recycling over a 1.1 metre safety barrier into a container below, so where possible make sure your items are light enough to lift yourself if you are visiting the site alone.
  • If an item is particularly heavy and requires two people to load it into the car, then it will take two people to offload the item and lift it over the barrier into a container.
  • You can only bring household waste and recycling to the Household Waste and Recycling Centre. Trade waste is accepted, but a charge applies. Declaring trade waste as household waste is against the law.

When you visit:

  • You will not be allowed to bring materials into the site on foot from a vehicle parked outside.
  • Cars and motorcycles should use the main "Cars Only" entrance. Pedestrians and cyclists should use the pedestrian access gate a few metres further west of the main car entrance.
  • Please drive carefully - children and pets must remain in vehicles at all times.
  • There are signs including material symbols to guide you to the correct drop off points.
  • Please reverse your vehicle into the bay.
  • If you're not sure where to put things or need any advice, please ask a member of staff.
  • Please note that the site staff are not permitted to assist with the offloading of vehicles or the moving and lifting of heavy items.
  • If your items are particularly heavy and cannot be lifted or broken down please ask a member of staff where you can place them.
