Reuse Workshop

Reuse Workshop

REWORK

A local repair service for good quality reusable items. Rework will save 1,200 tonnes of material from being thrown away every year!

Rework is a reuse workshop which sees hundreds of repairable items fixed up and sold on.

You are able to phone a reuse hotline and get your old sofa or washing machine collected from your home and delivered either to the workshop for repair, or to a storage depot for resale. There will be a fee for the service, but it will be no more than booking a bulky waste collection from your council.

For more details, or to book a collection, contact the waste and recycling department of your local council or the reuse collection service for your council, as follows:

Hammersmith & Fulham/Kensington and Chelsea: Visit the Furnish Collection website, or telephone 020 8996 4772.

Wandsworth: Visit the Wandsworth Council or British Heart Foundation (BHF) websites, or telephone BHF on 0808 250 0030

Lambeth and Wandsworth: Visit the Emmaus website, or telephone 020 8761 4276.

The workshop will accept the following items in good cosmetic condition, or in a repairable state:

  • Home furniture (e.g. beds, sofas, tables, chairs, cupboards and drawers)
  • Large appliances/White goods (e.g. fridges, washing machines, tumble driers and cookers). It doesn’t matter if they are no longer working.
  • Bicycles
  • Sports Equipment
  • Bric-a-Brac

You can also drop off your items at the Smugglers Way Reuse and Recycling Centre, where Rework is based.

Social benefits

Rework provides work experience to local unemployed people. The items received are passed on to various London charities for resale.

So how does it work?
