From Monday, 25th May 2020, the Smugglers Way Household Waste and Recycling Centre will return to usual weekday opening hours and will offer a full range of recycling opportunities.  We still anticipate very busy periods and will continue to regulate access, based on car registration numbers, for a while longer.

Please note:

  1. If you are unwell with symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) or in a 14 –day household isolation you should stay at home.
  2. You can only visit on certain days, depending on your car registration number and you risk being turned away if you arrive on the “wrong” day.
  • ‘even’ registration number plates based on 2nd digit e.g. xx52 xxx. will be allowed access on even days of the month and
  • “odd” registration plates e.g. 53 or 05, old style number plates, international or personalised registration plates will be allowed access on odd days of the month.
  1. You will be required to stay 2 metres away from other users and Centre staff at all times.
  2. You are advised to wear gloves for your own protection.

Tuesday, 26th May – Open 9am to 4pm

Thursday, 28th May – Open 9am to 4pm

Saturday, 30th May –  Open 8am to 6pm

OPENING TIMES FOR RESIDENTS WITH ‘ODD’ REGISTRATION NUMBER PLATES BASED ON 2ND DIGIT E.G. XX03 XXX PLUS OLD UK STYLE, INTERNATIONAL, PERSONALISED, ETC.

Monday, 25th May – Open 9am to 4pm

Wednesday, 27th May – Open 9am to 4pm

Friday, 29th May – Open 9am to 4pm

Sunday, 31st May – Open 8am to 5pm

If you are arriving on foot or by bike there will be a pedestrian one-way system in operation.

SMUGGLERS WAY AND CRINGLE DOCK WASTE TRANSFER STATIONS (FOR RESIDENTS ARRIVING IN A VAN ONLY)

Both Transfer Stations will be open during usual hours.

You will only be permitted to tip if you arrive wearing sturdy, closed-in shoes (no flip flops or open-toe sandals) and have a Hi-Viz vest or jacket (they can be purchased at the Weighbridge Office for £9.00, while stocks last).

You are required to pre-register your van before arriving on site in order that you can drop off your Household Waste for free – https://wrwa.gov.uk/centre-opening-times/.   You will also be required to produce ID which should be shown to the Weighbridge Clerk by holding it up against the Weighbridge Office window.
