Class trips (for KS2 and above)

See what happens to everything you throw away, and learn how you can help look after your waste and the environment.

See recycling in action (For KS2 and above)

You can book to visit our site if your school is in our boroughs of Wandsworth, Lambeth, Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham

At our Education Centre pupils or staff groups can see recycling in action. Pupils will explore the history of waste and learn about the energy wasted by throwing away items rather than recycling them. They will see rubbish lorries tipping their loads, and get up close to our container cranes loading rubbish onto barges on the Thames.  Pupils are then provided with practical information on which materials can be recycled and see how this happens.  They will learn the importance of the 3R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle – and find out what they can do to put them into practice.

Class trips are available ONLY for schools in the boroughs of Wandsworth, Lambeth, Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham and are FREE OF CHARGE.  We cannot offer trips to schools outside these boroughs.
