Western Riverside Waste Authority (WRWA) today announces the appointment of Andrew Walster as Managing Director, bolstering its leadership team.

As Managing Director, Andrew will direct and lead WRWA to manage waste collected by the London Boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Lambeth, Wandsworth and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Taking an active role in drafting and leading the WRWA’s vision, Andrew will also implement strategy to ensure efficient waste management.

Joining WRWA from Coventry City Council, where he was the Director of City Services and Commercial reporting directly to the Chief Executive, Andrew joins with extensive experience across both public and private sector organisations.

Adept at delivering services in the responsible management of waste, Andrew was responsible for waste collection to 135,000 households alongside the treatment and disposal of over 500,000 tonnes of waste in his previous role. Andrew was also Chairman of Sherbourne Recycling Ltd, a joint venture firm of eight local authorities across the West Midlands, Lead Technical Officer and Shareholder Representative for Coventry and Solihull Waste Disposal Ltd.

Bringing a proven track record in practical partnerships with local authorities, Andrew is an excellent leader of large teams that deliver complex and strategic projects that provide social value and profit with a purpose.
